• The Players Association is owned by its collective membership of players who make up the LCS and Academy leagues.

  • Membership is granted automatically upon a player's entry into the General Contract Database (GCD).

  • Membership and voting rights are granted automatically without any payment necessary at any time.

  • The Players’ Association does not provide one-on-one legal advice, but we do recommend vetted industry lawyers and agents who can help you in negotiation. The PA also maintains a player contract database accessible to all LCS, Academy, and prospective pros in our region who have submitted a valid contract or contract offer.

  • No. The PA is by players and for players. As a non-profit organization, our work is focused solely on how to better the lives of our members.

  • The LCSPA works the same as a traditional sports PA. We are sustained through a Player Group Rights Licensing Program just like Players’ Associations in the NFL, NBA, and MLB. This program not only funds the PAs but also puts money back into player pockets when revenues generated from the program exceed operating costs!

  • The LCSPA was founded originally by Riot, but in late 2020 that relationship ended and the LCSPA became a fully independent and self-sustaining organization. Riot Games has no influence over our hiring, advocacy, or other internal decisions.

  • Yes, the PA takes player issues extremely seriously, and we always put player needs first. If you come to us with a concern, then we will treat that information as private and confidential until such time as you authorize us to speak to additional parties.

  • The LCSPA has been a pioneer in esports player advocacy. In our short history we have created the first database of active player contracts to help improve bargaining power, brought accountability to team owners acting in harmful ways to players, advocated directly with Riot for policy changes that improve and protect LCS and Academy jobs, and we continue to build new programs each year to further improve the player experience.

  • Players are the lifeblood of esports. Without your amazing talents, there would be no LCS. When players all pool a bit of time and effort together, they have great power to affect changes that can help all players.
